The judges stood with their heads together whispering as they decided the fate of the 3 horses in the ring.

"I am telling you, THAT mare is the daughter of The Pumpkin King and Arista that were shorted 2 years ago at this very show. "

"we are not supposed to know that and we are not supposed to be talking."

"who cares. Those judges refused to make a choice, I say we right a wrong that was made."

The judges moved away from each other and continued examing the stallion, mare and gelding representing the best of the Saddlebred breed.

They took their score cards to the booth and Champion was announced as "Pumpkin Pie Spice."

Arista looked across the isle at The Pumpkin King as he was saddled for the saddleseat event, she herself awaiting a youth class, "I told you she'd win."

The stallion merely snorted. One never argued with a mare when she thought she was right.
