Hello!

It's been a crazy year - this year of the Horse. I was homeless in Feb and Mar - moved into a new place in April and have been trying to get ahead since. My laptop and phone died in March and I had to get new ones. My truck was in the shop off and on since January and I finally got it back in July - runs like a dream. Amazing that a dealership where I used to live almost made it so I had to get a new vehicle - glad I found a great mechanic here!

It's been a rough ride but I think I have this bronc calmed a little  

Not much news other than working on models and hiking and taking pictures.

I just want to say a HUGE thank you to all of you who have purchased items from me and helped me through this tough time with your wonderful support.  

Gabby is doing well but she still has some itching. We got all the hair back on her stomach and this weekend she came into contact with something that made her itch so alas all the hair is gone I can't take her in for more steroid shots as they will cause her to be diabetic and I can't handle giving her shots daily so I am working on models to sell and crafts as well to pay for the $200 test that will find out exactly what it is that is making her itch.

Being single and having all the financial responsibility blows sometimes and it amazes me the people that don't understand how I just live hand to mouth. I tend to tell married co-workers and that - take away your partner's income and pay all the bills yourself. That's how it is for me although my ex-partner took $3,000 with him when he left.

As for my health - they got all of the skin cancer on Wed April 20th. Now i have a 2 inch scar on my head and 36 stitches but the cancer is gone - that's the important thing. I missed a day of work after the surgery and since I only had PTO for surgery day I didn't get paid for that day but I will make it through.


On another front I have people write to me like I am 12 and an idiot. Just because I do model horses and crafts does not mean I am a child.  I am 40 years old and I do and have owned horses and dogs and cats - Appaloosa, Morgans, Tennessee Walkers (TWH) and Miniature Horses, Shelties, Collies, Smooth Fox, Chinese Crested and Bull Terriers. So I do take offense to someone telling me that my models aren't really what the real horses or dogs look like. I am still working on my techniques and there is a limit on models that there is not to drawings - they do have to be able to stand without a ton of supports.

If I post something for critique you are welcome to give what you like. If I don't, comments on fixes are appreciated, but critiques are not. Believe me I am more critical of my work than you are and I KNOW what the flaws are. I post my works because in doing so it forces me to look even more critically at it and work on my technique.

Not to be rude, but no I don't do models for free - they cost me to buy the molds and my time and supplies to do them. In the past I have done Pay It Forwards and Kiribans but I stopped. I had so many folks saying well the kiriban was at 60,000 and I got 60,025.  I felt as if I was being taken advantage of my giving nature and I stopped.

I am going to do a kiriban at 100,000 because that's a HUGE accomplishment and I haven't decided what it will be yet but I will post when my page views get closer.
